The shower after a nice hard run is the best <3
Also, I made it to 3 miles today! I can’t wait til I’m able to get back up to 5+ again. I feel so awesome getting back into running.

First time straightening my hair in months!

It’s been a while since my last long run. Planned on 3 miles, only made it to 2. Looks like I’ve got some work to do.

Me at job #1! This is my full-time job as a spa concierge at the Borgata. It’s a lot of work, but I’m really loving it so far :) I’m sorry I’ve been so neglectful! I’m working 2 jobs and I’m trying to adjust and learn how to manage my time. Going from having class on only 2 days a week to working 6-7 days a week is a lot to get used to! But I promise I’ll get the time management thing down and will start posting more again. Thank you everyone for sticking with me :) you’re all seriously amazing!

How to get silky soft strong hair the natural way!
Pick up some coconut oil. Raw/unrefined is the best if you can get it, but unrefined will do the trick as well.
Scoop out 1/2 cup (more or less depending on your hair type and length).
Melt the coconut oil in a pan. If you’re using raw/unrefined coconut oil, melt it on low heat, constantly stirring and lifting the pan off the heat to make sure to keep it raw. It melts pretty fast.
Pour the liquid oil into small/medium bowl.
I apply the oil to my hair in 6 sections. I dip the sections of my hair in the bowl and try to get as close to the roots of my hair as possible soaked in the oil. I then run my fingers tightly down the section of hair to squeeze all of the excess oil out of my hair. You want the section of hair to be completely saturated with the oil, but not soaked or dripping at all. Complete this throughout the whole head.
Now that your hair is nice and oily, throw it up in a bun on top of your head.
Take some plastic wrap and wrap up your entire head about 2-3 times, making sure there are no gaps (yay alien head!). Try not to let the hair touch your forehead to avoid breaking out there. You can also tie a plastic bag around your head and it will work the same, the idea for the plastic being to trap the heat in so the oil can really penetrate the hair shafts.
And now we wait. I leave the oil on for about 2-3 hours. I’ve seen people leave it on overnight, but I’m too scared of the plastic coming off in my sleep and waking up in a big oily mess. But feel free to sleep with it if you’re confident in doing so.
After you’ve waited for however long, it’s time to shower. You have to shampoo your head twice to completely remove the oil: the first time, flip your head over and face the shower head so the back of your neck is facing up to the ceiling (awkward, I know). The second time, shampoo your hair like you normally would.
Condition your hair as usual and you’re done! I let my hair air dry after this because it makes the waves in my hair look amazing.
I’ve done this coconut oil hair treatment about 3 times, and after each time my hair looks and feels amazing! My ends don’t break off and my hair feels thicker and looks so much shinier and more voluminous. I even think my hair has gotten longer because my ends have stopped breaking off. I definitely recommend giving this a try :)

Ahimsa or non-injury, implies non-killing. But, non-injury is not merely non-killing. In its comprehensive meaning, Ahimsa or non-injury means entire abstinence from causing any pain or harm whatsoever to any living creature, either by thought, word, or deed. Non-injury requires a harmless mind, mouth, and hand.

Ahimsa is not mere negative non-injury. It is positive, cosmic love. It is the development of a mental attitude in which hatred is replaced by love. Ahimsa is true sacrifice. Ahimsa is forgiveness. Ahimsa is Sakti (power). Ahimsa is true strength.

I love it. I go to get it touched up in 3 weeks because it’s done in grey ink so it’s going to heal a lot lighter and fade.
